Le Marron is a piece of heritage, art, and freedom
Crafted in karabela, an iconic traditional Haitian garment, this design reinterprets Haiti’s sartorial heritage through a contemporary creation where tailoring meets painting.
Le Marron stands out for its hand-painted artwork applied directly to the fabric. Each painting is created with care, giving every shirt a unique personality. As a result, each piece becomes an original work of art to wear.
A Story of Resistance and Freedom
The name Marron pays tribute to the enslaved women and men who fled the plantations of Saint-Domingue in search of freedom. In the mountains, the Maroons formed autonomous communities, preserved their traditions, and resisted the system of slavery.
Marronage became a powerful symbol of resistance, dignity, and freedom—values deeply rooted in Haiti’s history and in the journey that led to its independence in 1804.
Wearing Le Marron means wearing a story. It means affirming your identity, honoring a heritage, and helping keep Haitian culture alive through fashion.
